After franchise tagging Brandon Scherff, the Redskins are set at one guard spot. However, after signing Wes Schweitzer to play the other guard spot, that’s become an area of need. Robert Hunt can step in and usurp the new addition for a starting job right away, however.

Hunt has a nasty streak on the field that many teams will love at offensive guard. He takes pride in putting defenders in the dirt when he’s unoccupied in pass-protection. Even better, he has the strength and frame to match his play-style. He’s not without his weaknesses, though. Hunt can be impatient at times as his mentality can lead to him being over-aggressive. He’ll over-extend and not get the full power behind his punches.

What’s great about Hunt is that his weaknesses are clearly things that can be coached. As the adage goes, it’s easier to tell a player to tone it back with being aggressive than to ramp it up. He checks the physical benchmarks and, with coaching, can be an immediate starter in Washington.

857. Linebacker. Colorado. Davion Taylor. 4. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Jon Bostic and rookie Cole Holcomb started for the Redskins last season and, while both players were good against the run, they were lacking in coverage. That makes linebacker an area of concern in Washington and Colorado product Davion Taylor someone that should be on their radar.

Taylor is highly inexperienced as familial religious beliefs led to him essentially not playing in high school. However, his physical traits are enticing as the former Buffalo is freaky fast. He flies around the field with the best of them. That athleticism gives him high-end potential in coverage. While his lack of experience can manifest in an underdeveloped feel for the game in all areas, the tools are apparent with Taylor.

If the Redskins take Taylor in Round 4, there will be flashy plays that fans love along with other plays that leave many scratching their heads. He’ll be frustrating early on in his career as a result but, with his physical traits and the hope for further development, he could turn into a tremendous value at this spot.
