After four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Geronimo Allison is sitting on the market waiting to see where he will play in 2020. This comes after a rough season in 2019 for Allison, who was trying to prove he deserved a big contract.

The prior year, Allison was off to a hot start with 303 yards and two touchdowns off 20 receptions in four games before ending the season on IR. He then was given a one-year contract with a chance to prove he deserved more.

As Ryan Wood of USA Today’s Packers News points out that Allison was unable to make good on that prove-it deal with Green Bay.

"Instead, Allison struggled transitioning into new coach Matt LaFleur’s offense. He stayed healthy in 2019, but his 287 yards on 34 catches were fewer than he had in five games the previous year. Allison averaged 15.2 yards per catch in 2018. His average fell almost by half, to 8.4 yards per reception, in 2019."

The transition was perhaps the reason Allison didn’t make the most out of his chance in 2019, but he could find success in Dallas considering he knows the head coach well. Allison spent his first three seasons with Mike McCarthy, who is now the coach for the Cowboys.

He was also the coach when Allison started out playing so well in 2018. A reunion could be beneficial to both parties as it would give McCarthy a third wideout who he knows while also allowing Allison another chance to prove he deserves a big contract in the coming year.
