3. Taylor Gabriel

There was a point not too long ago where Taylor Gabriel was one of the bigger names in the NFL. A former undrafted free agent signing of the Cleveland Browns back in 2014, Gabriel quickly found a role in the offense called by Kyle Shanahan.

Cleveland’s offensive coordinator famously left that offseason after presenting a PowerPoint presentation to their owners on all the ways the team was awful.

When Shanahan left, Gabriel fell off but then the two found one another again with the Atlanta Falcons. In 2016, they reunited and Gabriel had the best season of his career. As the No. 3 target behind Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu, Gabriel had 35 receptions for 579 yards and six touchdowns.

Gabriel ended up turning his good run in Atlanta to a contract with the Chicago Bears. He was great in 2018 with 67 receptions for 688 yards but took a big step backward in 2019 as he dealt with injuries and an inconsistent offense.

Released this offseason, Gabriel is still looking for a new home and Dallas could give him a good chance to redeem himself. He wouldn’t have to be a No. 2 wideout like he was in Chicago but could return to the role he had in Atlanta where he could be the third option behind Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. And he still has the wheels to make teams pay should they forget about him in that group.
