Trade Alert: The Raiders traded the No. 19 overall pick to the Green Bay Packers for picks No. 30, 94 and 208 overall.

A move is made here as the Raiders drop down 11 picks to the No. 30 selection in the first. Had one of the better cornerback prospects — such as C.J. Henderson or Kristian Fulton — been available, they might have pulled the trigger. However, with them off the board, they take the Packers trade and add a mid and late-round pick.

Even with the slide down, they still land a difference-maker at a position of need. The Raiders’ linebacker corps wasn’t special last season but they can be now with Patrick Queen from LSU. Queen is a player that can cover from one sideline to the other but has limited starting experience.

He was able to start just 16 games during his time with the Tigers but was a big part of their title run last season. And general manager Mike Mayock and head coach Jon Gruden have said they like to draft players from winning teams. They proved that last season by going after players from Clemson and Alabama with many of their picks.

This season, they continue the trend with their two selections in the opening round grabbing an Alabama receiver and linebacker from the world championship LSU roster.
