Back on the clock in the third, where the Ravens again have two selections, we see Alex Highsmith from Charlotte selected. Baltimore is good on the edge with Matthew Judon and Jaylon Ferguson, but one thing they always do well on their roster is create depth and competition. That’s why they were able to let Za’Darius Smith walk recently, yet stay solid in the pass rush department.

As for Highsmith, he comes in as a prototypical 3-4 outside linebacker. He needs some work against NFL competition but he tore things up in Conference USA, which was enough to get him noticed. The good thing is he has a lot of moves, he will just need to learn how to mix them up against better competition, but this could end up being a steal of a pick.

Leki Fotu is an absolute monster. He checked into the NFL Scouting Combine at 6-5 and 330 pounds. And he can move, running a 5.15 at that size. However, that won’t be his calling card in the NFL.

Instead, he’s going to play as a traditional nose tackle and doing so in the Ravens three-man line is a perfect fit for him. He will take on the role of a block-eater and free their explosive players up to make the splash plays. Of course, he will get his as well, but a good nose tackle usually does his best work where no one notices him.
