10 NFL contenders that should Cam Newton for 2020 right now

10. Green Bay Packers
After two years of missing out on the playoffs, the Green Bay Packers finally put an end to their drought last season during Matt LaFleur’s first year as head coach and even earned a trip to the NFC Championship before coming up short against the San Francisco 49ers.

Unfortunately, the Packers were no match for the 49ers with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line, as Aaron Rodgers just couldn’t figure out a way to get anything consistent going on offense, making it clear the team will need some additional weapons at wideout for 2020.
Throughout his career, Rodgers has always been the kind of quarterback who makes the players around him better.
And while Green Bay may feel confident in Tim Boyle filling in if anything were to happen to Rodgers, there’s no debate that Newton would be a major upgrade at backup position.
No disrespect towards Boyle since he’s only been in the NFL for two seasons, but Newton’s experience alone as a starter would make him the much better option, even if it would be more expensive for the Packers.
These days, no one needs to explain the importance of having a reliable backup quarterback in case the starter goes down, and it’s even more important for teams like Green Bay who are expected to remain a top contender in the NFC.
