Pick Analysis. Pick 19. CB. Scouting Report. Round 1. Kristian Fulton. player. 817

This offseason, the Raiders thought they found another potential starting cornerback as they had agreed to terms with former New York Giants first-round pick Eli Apple. While Apple didn’t make it in New York, he did revive his career some with the New Orleans Saints which piqued the interest of Vegas.

That ended up not happening as Apple’s deal with the Raiders fell through before it could be signed. While the team wasn’t thrilled about that, they can do better in the draft and that’s what happens here as they take LSU’s Kristian Fulton.

Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock made no secret of the way they’re drawn to championship players. They love to go after Alabama and Clemson players due to their winning culture and after the way LSU dominated last season, don’t be surprised to see them look at that school to scout this class.

Fulton was a high recruit coming to LSU and it took a while for him to turn into the player they thought he could be. Eventually, he showed what the team was so excited about as he was an excellent press corner who knows how to change up his technique to keep receivers guessing on how he will defend them.

There are still those who believe there’s a lot of clean-up needed in Fulton’s game but if the Raiders can get that taken care of, they have themselves a potential lockdown corner.
