4. Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons need to add youth to their roster. In 2019, they fielded one of the oldest rosters in the NFL, tied for third-oldest in the league. They’ve added a bit of youth this offseason, but they still need to reload in the draft by accumulating younger, cheaper talent. With only $7 million in cap space, the draft is the best opportunity to add more impact players.

Unfortunately, the Falcons only have six picks in this year’s draft. At their No. 16 overall selection, there are not many players that Atlanta needs to select in order to compete in 2020. They have needs at offensive linemen and cornerback, but the quality of player at that pick does not coincide with the value of the selection.

The Falcons will likely try to trade down towards the back of the first round to accumulate more mid-round picks.

While having Matt Ryan and Julio Jones allows the Falcons to compete with nearly any opponent, it will be very difficult for them to win a title with their current roster; now that they have to face Drew Brees and Tom Brady twice a year, Atlanta may want to stock up on young players to give themselves flexibility down the road.

Trading back in the first round would be ideal for a team struggling to find their standing in the crowded NFC.
