3. Xavier Woods or Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S

The Cowboys finally have two starting safeties to believe in. Xavier Woods was a former sixth-round pick who has turned into a trusted player on the back end. He’s not a Pro Bowler, but he does his job and has made some big plays in his young career.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Woods has 33 starts under his belt and has been able to make his share of game-changing plays. He has five interceptions, 17 pass defenses, and three forced fumbles in his first three seasons. The only question now is how he will do with a change of position.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is a pure free safety and the Cowboys just signed him on a one-year deal. The former Green Bay Packers first-round pick re-joins Mike McCarthy and has been a playmaker for him in the past. Clinton-Dix has 16 picks in his seven years, which is something Dallas desperately needs in their secondary.

With him now in Big D, Woods will move from free safety to strong safety. There’s a chance they could both excel in their roles and each could land an extension. However, it seems more likely that they could try and land a strong safety in the upcoming draft and allow them to work their way into the lineup while Woods and Clinton-Dix battle for a deal beyond 2020.
