2020 NFL Mock Draft: Packers trade back, Browns and Eagles move up
Some might have the Dallas Cowboys taking an edge rusher or safety here but, with Byron Jones now gone, the Cowboys need to shore up the secondary. And for my money, Kristian Fulton is the best cornerback still on the board. The LSU product may not have the full arsenal of Okudah or the elite physical traits of Henderson but he has the size, length and athleticism to be a high-end coverage player who can keep the Dallas defense afloat.
(Pick via Pittsburgh)
With Dallas choosing to pass on K’Lavon Chaisson, the Dolphins are there licking their chops. Miami made some solid moves in free agency to improve their edge pass rush but they didn’t have a game-changer at the position. Having said that, Chaisson has the physical tools to be that for the Dolphins. He’s explosive and, while he needs to improve against the run, he has elite potential as a speed pass-rusher.
(Pick via Chicago)
The secondary in Las Vegas has a lot of issues after all of the players that they’ve let loose or have seen not work out at cornerback. For this defense to fully materialize, they need to come up with answers, which is what Jeff Gladney can be. The TCU product is being quite underrated in this class but has the athletic tools and prowess to be a quality starter immediately in the NFL.
(Pick via LA Rams)
Gladney coming off of the board here is tough luck for the Jaguars as they could very much use a cornerback after parting ways with their two starters entering last season. Having said that, there’s no need to reach and they need help at safety. Xavier McKinney is, subsequently, the pick. The Alabama product is a sure player in every aspect of the position as a good tackler with the ability to cover as well and he should join Jacksonville and steady the back end of the defense.
