player. Pick Analysis. QB. Alabama. Tua Tagovailoa. 3. Scouting Report. 28

Raiders trade: No. 12, 19, 91 and 2021 second-rounder
Lions trade: No. 3

Similar to what we’ve already discussed when talking about the Dolphins, there is growing concern around the league about Tua Tagovailoa. Not only are some teams still worried about his recovery from the hip injury that ended his college career with the Crimson Tide but also with his list of injuries suffered at Bama. And there are also those that wonder how much of a “system-product” he is after playing with an elite group of weapons in that offense.

Having said that, Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock have proven that they want prospects that come from the right culture and with the right intangibles to fit what they are building with the now-Las Vegas Raiders. Tagovailoa unquestionably fits that bill. He’s a leader with tremendous poise and presence on and off the field. And when you throw in what I believe is elite talent and accuracy as a quarterback, he becomes more enticing.

With Derek Carr still on the roster and having signed Marcus Mariota this offseason, some might say the Raiders aren’t in the quarterback market — but maybe that’s just what they want us to think. With two first-round picks, they have the ammunition to move up and get a player who can take their offense to new heights. Plus, if you want a face of the franchise heading to Vegas, Tagovailoa could most certainly be that.
