58. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OT. 4. Alabama. Jedrick Wills Jr.. player

(Pick via Giants)

Could the Washington Redskins use Chase Young? Of course. In fact, I’d defy you to find a team in the NFL that wouldn’t like to have the Ohio State pass-rusher on their team. Even if a franchise has two top-end edge rushers already on the roster, why would they not want to add a 21-year-old on a rookie contract who could make an immediate positive impact on the defense and be a long-term asset?

But then again, Washington does have some investment at edge rusher already. The Redskins traded back into the first round last year to take Montez Sweat and they still have veteran Ryan Kerrigan on the roster as well. Their offensive line, however, is much more concerning as it does appear that veteran Trent Williams could be dealt during the 2020 NFL Draft or sometime soon as his relationship with the organization is untenable.

So after trading down with New York, the Redskins fill the hole left by Young with Jedrick Wills Jr. out of Alabama. He played right tackle for the Crimson Tide but Wills has the combination of power, movement skills to come in right away and succeed at either tackle spot. He would provide Dwayne Haskins with the fortified front the young quarterback needs to develop successfully.
