After letting Chris Harris Jr. walk this offseason, the Broncos secondary isn’t necessarily in shambles. However, they could definitely use some high-quality depth on the boundary if they want to recapture the type of defense that led them to winning Super Bowl 50.

Noah Igbinoghene may be raw but his tools are exceptionally intriguing. He’s only played the position for two years but he has a natural feel for the cornerback spot. When you throw in his explosiveness and agility, he has all the makings of being a top-tier NFL cornerback under the tutelage of a great mind like Fangio.

Linebacker is a spot many people have circled for the Broncos as a need over the past few years. In fact, I frequently mocked them Devin Bush in the 2019 draft at No. 10, a spot they ironically traded out of so that Pittsburgh could select Bush.

In the third round here, they don’t pass on a backer and land Jordyn Brooks out of Texas Tech. Brooks was the heart of the Red Raiders defense in college and can fly all over the field to make plays. He’s unproven in coverage but I believe the athleticism and range he’s shown otherwise should translate to him developing well in that area.

Saahdiq Charles could probably be flirting with the notion of being a first-round pick. Unfortunately, he has some murky character red flags that stem from a suspension while at LSU. Even still, when you get towards the middle of the third round, talent starts to outweigh any risk there, especially for a team like Denver.

Garett Bolles hasn’t fully panned out as planned and, to keep Lock upright moving forward, the offensive line needs to be in good shape. If Charles can avoid any off-field trouble, he could be an upgrade over Bolles and a player who answers numerous questions in the trenches.
