Cleveland Browns keep it simple and win in final 7-round 2020 mock draft

While some say drafting the best player available is the way to go, needs must be met. Andrew Berry has said BPA is the way to go and even compared his strategy to that of an expansion team. However, this can’t be 100 percent accurate.

For example, say the Kansas City Chiefs had the No. 1 overall pick. In this example, there’s no way they take Joe Burrow because quarterback is not a need.
So in a perfect draft scenario, need and talent have to match. For the Cleveland Browns, this means the No. 10 overall pick has to fill a need.
They’re not taking a quarterback there, and they’re most likely not taking a corner or edge rusher. Instead, they’ll look mostly at offensive tackle and as long as a player who has talent that can be justified as a top 10 pick is available, they’ll grab him.
That happens here as Andrew Thomas is the selection. The Georgia offensive lineman is one of the top overall prospects in this class and it can be argued he’s the most pro-ready left tackle overall. Thomas boasts a great combination of size and strength and simply does everything well.
Thomas’ addition will help round out the offensive roster which has a lot of potential. Pairing him with newly-signed Jack Conklin also takes a weakness and turns it into a strength, which makes this simple pick the right one.
