Dallas Cowboys defense gets overhauled in final 7-round 2020 mock draft

Dallas wanted to keep Robert Quinn after he led the team in sacks with 11.5 last season but there was no way they were matching the massive contract the Chicago Bears gave him.

Chicago was willing to write up a five-year contract in the $70 million range which was too much for a team needing to re-sign their Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper and star quarterback Dak Prescott.
With Quinn now gone, Dallas needs to address the edge-rushing position. They do have some depth with Tyrone Crawford coming back from injury and have a couple of risky options in Randy Gregory and Aldon Smith (provides the league reinstates both) but they need a sure thing.
That’s where K’Lavon Chaisson from LSU comes in. A technically sound player who also has amazing athleticism at the position, Chaisson looks as though he was created in a factory to play on the edge.
He would step right in and give the Cowboys a solid right defensive end opposite DeMarcus Lawrence, who has the left side locked down.
There will be calls for Dallas to use this pick on a cornerback but they have to be sure not to reach. With C.J. Henderson likely off the board already, they would be better off adding a potentially premier pass rusher while waiting until the second day to address the defensive backfield.
