QB. 5. player. Pick Analysis. Tua Tagovailoa. 59. Scouting Report. Alabama

The Miami Dolphins — or at least the media covering the organization — doth protest too much in terms of where they stand on Tua Tagovailoa. For my money, the Dolphins have always been in on the southpaw from Alabama and that has never changed. What Miami has been trying to do is to not have to trade up for him so to retain their draft capital. And I think they’ve succeeded in doing so.

Make no mistake, the injury concerns with Tagovailoa are real. Even if the reports of him being all the way back from his hip injury are true, he still got banged up often in college, which is worrisome. But anyone questioning the tape on him is just asinine. The accuracy and poise Tua displayed in college is second to none and his production speaks for itself. He’s the franchise quarterback the Dolphins want and need.

Scouting Report. OT. Louisville. 6. player. Pick Analysis. Mekhi Becton. 13

While I’m not buying what the Dolphins are selling, the opposite is true as it pertains to the Los Angeles Chargers. Some have questioned whether or not this franchise is serious about starting Tyrod Taylor at quarterback in 2020 and I believe they are. Every move they’ve made this offseason seemingly lends itself to competing by just getting steady, veteran quarterback play.

The one area where they must improve for that to happen is at offensive tackle opposite of Bryan Bulaga, who they added in free agency. Thus, they have their pick of anyone at the position besides Wills at No. 6 and take the freakish behemoth, Mekhi Becton. Though the failed drug test at the NFL Combine isn’t great, I don’t think a team in need and trying to compete now like the Chargers can pass up a player with the Louisville product’s rare traits.
