Round 5, Pick 161: Tyler Johnson, Wide Receiver, Minnesota

Despite having a number of weapons for Brady, there was still the glaring hole of No .3 receiver for the Buccaneers offense. Well, that hole is no more.

Johnson is another excellent choice, as the former Golden Gopher is coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons. He lined up both inside and out for Minnesota and is a great route runner with an outstanding ability to make contested catches.

He’s also able to create separation in the short and intermediate passing game but can struggle with press coverage. He will most likely fill the slot receiver role in Arians’ offense and is a very good value pick here in Round 5.

Round 6, Pick 194: Khalil Davis, Defensive Tackle, Nebraska

This late in the draft, it’s time to focus on building depth throughout the team. Why not add another body to the defensive line? Although the team is already set with starters Ndamukong Suh, Vita Vea and Will Gholston, they do need some rotational help.

That’s what Davis can be. His best position is likely a three-technique and he flashed some pass-rush ability during his time with the Huskers.

Despite that potential, he still doesn’t have a lot of power or pass-rushing moves, and will have to develop those skills under defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers. Nevertheless, he could develop into a solid rotational lineman to replace the departed Beau Allen given time and experience.
