Running Backs (5): Nick Bellore, Chris Carson, DeeJay Dallas, Travis Homer, Rashaad Penny

Over the past two seasons, Chris arson became Seattle’s best running back since Marshawn Lynch. The team struggled for years to replace Beast Mode, but Carson finally stepped up to the challenge. Despite fumbling issues, he’ll win the starting job again easily.

Seattle’s general manager, John Schneider, recently spoke with Dave Mahler and Dick Fain on Sports Radio KJR. In the interview, Schneider claimed Carson is well on the way to recovering from a hip injury he suffered late last season and should play in the team’s Week 1 opener. However, Penny’s rehab could continue into the 2020 season.

Technically, Penny will begin the 2020 season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, meaning he won’t be available until after Week 6 at the earliest. While on the PUP list, he doesn’t count toward the 55-man roster. During that time, Seattle could bring in a familiar face to backup Carson.

Recently, Lynch told ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt that his agent is in discussions with the Seahawks on a potential deal. Nothing is set in stone, but Beast Mode could make a brief return to Seattle this coming season. However, it seems unlikely that the Seahawks would agree to the deal if it meant the team had to alter the career path of one of their younger backs.

Speaking of younger backs, Dallas and Homer should both make the roster along with Bellore, the team’s starting fullback.
