Week 5: Vikings at Seahawks

The first really tough matchup for Minnesota will come in Week 5 when hitting the road on a national stage to face the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks have had the Vikings’ number over the last few seasons, especially when it comes to Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins, and they will once again be a tough opposition for Minnesota on Sunday Night Football. That will result in Minnesota falling on the road and overall for the first time in the regular season at the hands of Russell Wilson and company.

Prediction: Loss

Week 6: Falcons at Vikings

After two straight road games and one week prior to their bye week in Week 7, Minnesota will return back to Minneapolis and will welcome in a tough offensive opponent in the Atlanta Falcons.

While the Falcons have struggled on defense, they still hold one of the more powerful offenses in the NFL and added the likes of Todd Gurley and others into the mix this offseason. That dominance on offense will put the Minnesota defense to the test, but the fact that Atlanta has struggled on defense will result in the Vikings being able to win in a shootout at U.S. Bank Stadium going into the bye.

Prediction: Win

Week 7: Bye

The Vikings will get a mid-season bye during Week 7, which will allow them the opportunity to gear up and get ready for an important NFC North showdown in Green Bay in Week 8.

Week 8: Vikings at Packers

Coming out of the bye week while getting to the midway point in the regular season, Minnesota hits the road for its toughest road game of the year among divisional opponents annually. The Vikings will be able to dodge a cold Lambeau Field game in 2020 with facing Green Bay twice within eight weeks, but will still have their hands full with Aaron Rodgers and company in front of the Packers crowd.

After falling to Minnesota in the regular-season opener in Minneapolis, Rodgers and Green Bay will bounce back to split the two-game series with the Vikings and hand the Vikings their second loss of the year.

Prediction: Loss

Week 9: Lions at Vikings

Following a loss in Week 8 to one divisional opponent, Minnesota will host another NFC North team when the Detroit Lions enter U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Vikings will be able to bounce back from the defeat on the road and will remain undefeated at home through nine weeks of the 2020 campaign, overpowering Matthew Stafford and the Lions who have continued to struggle year-after-year over the last handful of seasons. Minnesota’s offense will take a nice step up from what it displayed in Green Bay the week prior to hand Detroit a loss in this Sunday afternoon contest.

Prediction: Win
