With the Atlanta Falcons learning of their full 2020 regular season schedule last week, here’s a dive into the toughest and easiest games for the Falcons.

The Atlanta Falcons have an interesting season lying ahead of them during the 2020 NFL campaign. First, the Falcons come into the year after finishing the 2019 season with a below-.500 record of 7-9 while tying with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for second place in the NFC South division behind the first-place New Orleans Saints. That resulted in Atlanta missing the postseason for a second consecutive year, a streak it hopes to put to bed in 2020.

Secondly, the Falcons now suddenly have a tough division to try and deal with after the other three teams in the NFC South beefed up their teams and retooled their offenses head into the coming year.

Most notably, Tampa Bay added the likes of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski to an already potent offense, while the Carolina Panthers added intriguing quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to take things over in the passing game for now former Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. Those two teams, along with New Orleans once again looking like a top NFC squad going into 2020, will be a tough task for Atlanta in half of the regular season schedule.

Even though the other three teams in the division have improved on both sides of the ball and especially on offense, the Falcons have done the same within their organization as well. After parting ways with tight end Austin Hooper and running back Devonta Freeman this offseason, Atlanta brought in the likes of tight end Hayden Hurst to take over for Hooper and running back Todd Gurley to lead the running game in the absence of Freeman.

Those offseason additions, along with the prospects the Falcons brought in both in the NFL Draft and during the undrafted free agency process, will result in Atlanta being able to go toe-for-toe with those talented offenses which should make for an intriguing run for the divisional title this season.

Last week, the Falcons’ preparation for the upcoming regular season schedule officially began when the team learned of who they will play and when throughout the 16-game slate of games in 2020. Although the schedule looks tough for Atlanta as it hopes to try and get back into the postseason this year, the Falcons could find themselves in the running for a playoff spot at the end of the regular season.

As the year continues to inch closer, let’s take a look at three of the toughest and easiest games that fill Atlanta’s regular season schedule during the 2020 campaign.
