Easiest games on Falcons schedule

3. Week 7 vs. Detroit Lions

Although there are a decent amount of games that fill the schedule for the Atlanta Falcons in 2020, there are some games that Atlanta should be able to handle relatively easily and should be viewed as early favorites throughout the year.

Those slate of games includes a Week 7 matchup against NFC opponent the Detroit Lions in Atlanta. The Falcons will be coming off of a tough game on the road against the Minnesota Vikings the week prior but should be able to bounce back against Matthew Stafford and the Lions at home.

Detroit is often viewed as a fringy team that is walking the line of being a solid team or one who is going through another rebuild. A bulk of the reason for that is due to the lack of health with its players and their ability to stay on the field during the season. The Lions do have an intriguing offense, but they tend to struggle on the defensive side of the ball, which should play in the favor of the Falcons passing attack and beefed up running game.

2. Week 9 vs. Denver Broncos

Another game on the schedule that the Falcons should be able to handle comes on Week 9 at home against the Denver Broncos, a week before Atlanta heads into its annual bye week in Week 10.

The Falcons will have an extra day of rest and preparation for this game, since they play on Thursday Night Football in Week 8, and will use that in their advantage against the Broncos. Matt Ryan and company will be able to have a high-scoring contest in this game, which will be just too much for Denver to try and keep up with.

1. Week 14 at Los Angeles Chargers

Much like Atlanta has gone through this offseason, the Los Angeles Chargers have experienced some turnover on their roster going into the 2020 NFL season, but to a greater extent than what the Falcons have gone through.

Most notably, Los Angeles parted ways with veteran quarterback Philip Rivers this offseason while drafting rookie quarterback Justin Herbert to take over the Chargers offense both this season and in the future.

Although Los Angeles still does contain some solid offensive weapons that surround Herbert, the Chargers are likely going to experience somewhat of a rebuilding year this season while trying to build for something greater in 2021 and beyond. At this point in the season in Week 14, Atlanta should be able to go into Los Angeles and take down the Chargers on their home field to kick off the final quarter of the regular season on a high note.
