Atlanta Falcons: 3 Early breakout candidates on offense for 2020
With some new faces joining the Atlanta Falcons this offseason, here are three offensive players who are set to have breakout seasons in 2020.
After missing out on the postseason for a second consecutive year in 2019, the Atlanta Falcons have worked to retool the team and improve on both sides of the ball to try and end that streak during the 2020 NFL season.
Even though the year isn’t here just yet, the upcoming season is already a big one for Atlanta and the future of the franchise. If the Falcons aren’t able to get back to the postseason, we might see an even larger shift in personnel among the team this upcoming offseason.
The tough thing for Atlanta is that the NFC South got even better this offseason with the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers all beefing up their teams and most notably their offenses going into the new season.
But the Falcons have also worked on improving their squad, whether that was via the trade market or free agency, or the 2020 NFL Draft and the undrafted free agency process.
Most notably this offseason, Atlanta added the likes of tight end Hayden Hurst to take over for Austin Hooper and running back Todd Gurley to take over the ground game for Devonta Freeman, while also adding dominant pieces on the defensive side of the field as well.
Specifically when it comes to the top-notch offense in Atlanta, the Falcons will once again consist of one of the top squads in the NFL on that side of the field. And there are some new faces that have stepped into starting roles around the offense that will result in some breakout performances by multiple players.
With the 16-game regular-season schedule now set and the season continuing to get closer, let’s take a look at three players who could see the largest amount of improvement this season and who could experience breakout performances during the 2020 campaign.
