Baltimore Ravens: Early 55-man roster predictions after the 2020 draft
By Samuel Teets
Running Backs (5): J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, Justice Hill, Mark Ingram, Patrick Ricard
Last season, the Ravens kept three running backs on the roster along with fullback Patrick Ricard. However, the team can spare room for another running back this season because it would be a mistake to cut anyone from this talented backfield. After adding J.K. Dobbins in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Ravens boast the deepest backfield in the entire NFL.

Ricard has made Baltimore’s final roster in each of the last three seasons. He saw his highest usage rate in 2019, playing 31 percent of the team’s offensive snaps and 23 percent of the special teams snaps. However, Ricard can also line up as a defensive end. He played 14 percent of Baltimore’s defensive snaps last season. So, while many teams decide to abandon their fullbacks, Ricard is a versatile player the Ravens want to keep around.
Gus Edwards and Mark Ingram should be locks to make the roster alongside Dobbins. Last season, Ingram tallied 1,018 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns on only 202 carries. He also caught five touchdown passes. Edwards has run for over 700 yards in each of his first two seasons while averaging 5.3 yards per carry. The two backs played a large role in helping Baltimore set the single-season rushing yards record.
If someone gets left out, it’s going to be Justice Hill. Baltimore took Hill in the fourth-round last year, and he rushed for 225 yards as a rookie. However, that production and draft positioning pales in comparison to other players on the roster.
