3. Kenyan Drake

Prior to last season’s deadline, the Cardinals decided to acquire Kenyan Drake from the Miami Dolphins with the intention of bringing on some insurance at the running back position, which arguably turned out to be better than expected.

Now that David Johnson is officially out of the picture, Drake enter the 2020 season as the top running back on the depth chart for Arizona and motivated to play well enough for a potential long-term deal down the road after signing a one-year tender in March.

With that being said, the Cardinals would most likely prefer to keep Drake around since expectations are much higher for 2020 now that DeAndre Hopkins is on board, but also Arizona has already proven that anything is possible this offseason.

Since Drake’s asking price for his next contract is only expected to go up moving forward, the Cardinals could always pull off another surprise move with a trade if they decide he will be too expensive to keep around in the long run.

Los Angeles clearly felt confident enough in Austin Ekeler being capable of handling the new role as the No. 1 running back with Melvin Gordon no longer around, but if Drake were to come on board for an extra weapon to work with, it will only make the offense stronger.
