3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Suffice it to say that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had a nice offseason.

The team finally cut bait with Jameis Winston who, although productive and talented, was a turnover machine whose inconsistency held the offense back. Meanwhile, they landed a stud tackle in Tristan Wirfs to fortify a good offensive line and actually added a safety in the draft as well, landing a stud in the second round with the selection of Antoine Winfield Jr.

Oh yeah, they also just happened to sign the greatest NFL quarterback of all time, Tom Brady, and lure his favorite target out of retirement in trading for tight end Rob Gronkowski. So yeah, it’s been a nice 2020 thus far in Tampa.

Even if Winfield Jr. is ready to start right away — I believe he is — the safety spot in Tampa Bay still has some question marks. Justin Evans hasn’t totally panned out just yet and the duo of Mike Edwards and Jordan Whitehead appears best served as situational players. For this defense to continue taking steps forward, they could use an upgrade.

By signing Brady and with every subsequent move the Bucs have made this offseason, it’s clear that general manager Jason Licht is all-in on winning in 2020. So why not continue that trend and trade for Jamal Adams? Adding him to this defense with talented young cornerbacks and an underrated front seven would complement Brady and the loaded offense and perhaps allow Tampa to vault into Super Bowl contention, if they aren’t already there.
