Early Buffalo Bills roster prediction for 2020
Quarterback (2): Josh Allen, Jake Fromm
In the Sean McDermott/Brandon Beane era, the Bills have never carried more than two quarterbacks entering a season.

In 2017, McDermott went into the season with Tyrod Taylor and rookie Nathan Peterman as the only passers on the team; the inexperience of Peterman as the main backup proved costly when the former 5th round pick threw five interceptions in the first half versus the Los Angeles Chargers.
In 2018, Nathan Peterman somehow won the starting job with rookie Josh Allen looking to take a redshirt year as he adjusted to the game. Entering the season once again with only two quarterbacks, McDermott and Beane were forced to adjust after Allen suffered an injury; they signed Matt Barkley and Derek Anderson later in the season.
In 2019, only Josh Allen and Matt Barkley entered the season on the 53-man roster, as projected third-string passer T.J. Yates was abysmal in the preseason. This year, I expect the same.
The Bills want to groom Jake Fromm to be a long-term backup, and with Matt Barkley only under contract for one more season, this is the perfect time to hand over the reigns to the player with more promise. Buffalo elects to keep the young Fromm over the veteran Barkley.
