Which games are the New York Jets looking forward to and dreading in 2020?

This coming season presents the New York Jets with their best chance to win the AFC East in almost two decades. The New England Patriots experienced significant losses during the offseason with Tom Brady representing the most notable departure. The Buffalo Bills seem primed to claim the division title, but the Jets could give Sean McDermott’s team a run for their money.

The Jets do face an uphill battle considering their schedule is one of the toughest in the NFL. New York faces the AFC West and NFC West, two of the toughest divisions in the league. At least Adam Gase’s squad faces an easy schedule within their own division.

With that, let’s break down the toughest and easiest games the Jets will see in the 2020 season.

Toughest Game No. 3: Seattle Seahawks, Week 14

As long as Russell Wilson is in Seattle, the Seahawks are a top-10 team. Wilson is a perennial MVP candidate coming off of the first All-Pro season of his career. He’s in win-now mode, and by Week 14, the Seahawks should be ramping up for the playoffs.

The Week 14 matchup is also at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, which is one of the toughest stadiums for road teams to win in. New York’s only chance of pulling out a victory is if the Seahawks come out flat-footed and play down to the level of their competition. Otherwise, this game should easily go in the win column for Seattle.

Easiest Game No. 3: Miami Dolphins, Week 10

The Jets face Miami twice in three weeks. The first meeting comes in Week 10 at Hard Rock Stadium. Then, the Jets have their bye week before Miami travels to MetLife Stadium for a Week 12 rematch. Even though it’s an away game, I think the first matchup will be easier for New York.

Presumably, Tua Tagovailoa will run the show in Miami by Week 10. That makes this his first matchup against the Jets. Even if Tagovailoa is an electric rookie, his roster is still a year away from competing at a high level. Brian Flores is a rising head coach who could keep Miami in some close battles this year, but I think the Jets get an easy victory in their first matchup.
