The Jacksonville Jaguars’ future will be written by their talented young players.
With one of the youngest rosters in the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars seem to have a tough hill to climb to return to contention. In fact, it’s right to expect that this group might end up with one of the worst records in the NFL for the 2020 season.
While things may seem bleak for the time being, the current roster is full of young talent with the potential to take Jacksonville to new heights in the future.
Examining that young talent, let’s dive into the five best players under 25 years old on the Jacksonville Jaguars roster for the 2020 campaign.

5. Ronnie Harrison, S, Jacksonville Jaguars
Ronnie Harrison emerged as the starting strong safety in 2019, netting 73 tackles and two interceptions. Harrison is part of a very young and talented secondary that just brought in C.J. Henderson from Florida to go along with safety Jarrod Wilson and Tre Herndon.
If each of those players can be solid contributors and grow throughout the season, Jacksonville may be able to rebuild a secondary similar to that of the 2017 team.
4. Gardner Minshew, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
While all signs point to the Jaguars targeting a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft, Gardner Minshew has shown what he is capable of doing on the field. He led all rookies in passer rating, threw 21 touchdowns with just six interceptions and went 6-6 in 12 starts last season. While all the speculation is that the Jaguars will go quarterback in the draft, Minshew could very well prove that he is the guy going forward — even if it means he will do it somewhere other than Jacksonville.
3. DJ Chark, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
DJ Chark had his coming out party in 2019. The second-year wide receiver out of LSU went from 14 receptions and 174 yards in 2018 to 73 receptions and over 1,000 yards with eight touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl selection. Now going into his third year, Chark is the clear No.1 receiver on the roster and is poised to build off of his stellar 2019 campaign.
2. Myles Jack, LB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Myles Jack has proven himself as one of the finest young linebackers in the league. While only playing in 11 games last season, Jack combined for 197 tackles and three fumble recoveries in 2017 and 2018. At just 24 years old, Jack is going into his fifth season in Jacksonville and is one of the final remaining members of the 2017 defense that went to the AFC Championship Game.
1. Josh Allen, EDGE, Jacksonville Jaguars
The No. 7 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft proved that he was worth the high selection.
Josh Allen had 10.5 sacks in his rookie campaign and forced two fumbles as well en route to a Pro Bowl selection as a rookie. The Jaguars have gotten some criticism for how they have built their roster but one thing they have done right is the building of the front seven. Allen is right at the forefront of that unit and will be a force for a decade in Duval County.
