Before the 2020 NFL season begins, let’s take a look at five potential free agent targets the Atlanta Falcons could still sign this year.

It might be premature to say that the 2020 NFL season is a make-or-break year for the Atlanta Falcons, but it will be an important campaign nonetheless for a team that has failed to reach the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. This year, the Falcons hope to bounce back after two straight 7-9 seasons that have resulted in their season coming to an end at the conclusion of the regular season.

Atlanta has high hopes to trying to jump out of the gate of the regular season on a better note than it did last year to try and battle for the division title and ultimately a playoff position at the end of the season.

During the offseason, the roster has seen a decent amount of overhaul on both offense and defense, but the Falcons still have familiar faces to make up their core highlighted by a continued potent group on the offensive side of the ball.

As Atlanta has already addressed some needs that have popped up during the offseason, it could still look to further add to the depth chart via free agency before the regular season kicks off this fall.

One of the reasons why it will be important for the Falcons to continue to look for ways to improve their roster is due to their division suddenly got a lot tougher during the offseason.

The New Orleans Saints will return as one of the top teams in the NFC this year, while both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers have also beefed up their offenses and teams via free agency.

With an important season and a tough regular-season schedule lying ahead for Atlanta, there are plenty of intriguing options still out on the free-agent market that could help the team both this season and perhaps beyond as it tries to get back to the playoffs in 2020.

Before training camp commences and the preseason takes place before the start of the actual year, let’s take a dive into five potential free agent targets that the Falcons could take a look at going into the new year.
