2021 NFL Draft: Steelers turn the page at quarterback in first-round mock draft
By Randy Gurzi
This one feels like the easiest prediction to make. The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to be in full tank mode this season as they have started to unload a lot of veteran talent — they also already moved on from one younger player who was set for a new deal while possibly having another heading out soon.

Last year, they traded away Jalen Ramsey who then signed a big extension with the Los Angeles Rams. Jacksonville now has a contract situation to deal with when it comes to edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue who was hit with the franchise tag but wants to be traded now.
If he leaves, he will join players such as Ramsey, defensive end Calais Campbell, quarterback Nick Foles, and cornerback A.J. Bouye who have all been either traded or released as they have gone through a big change.
While all those players who have left were talented, none could turn this team into a winning franchise. The reason for that is simple — the Jaguars have yet to get the quarterback position right. As long as that’s the case, they’re going to struggle.
In this first round mock of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Jaguars do get the most important position on the field figured out as they land Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick.
Lawrence has been the clear favorite to be the top pick in the upcoming draft for more than a year now and it would be a surprise to see anyone else take this space. Jacksonville needs someone to lead their offense and landing Lawrence would be like winning the lottery for them.
