Packers early bold prediction No. 3: Jordan Love throws a touchdown pass

The Packers have a future Hall of Fame quarterback as their starter at the moment. Aaron Rodgers isn’t going to be unseated by 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love — at least, not during the 2020 season — but that doesn’t mean the Packers won’t get him involved.

There have been rumors the Packers could have a small package of plays for Love this coming season. Love, who was drafted 26th overall this past April, will have a ton of pressure to perform once he takes over the starting role. But as a player with low expectations for 2020, the Packers can give him a small role to potentially provide a few big plays this coming season.

Some believe Love should be used like the New Orleans Saints’ Taysom Hill, who plays a multitude of positions despite being listed as a quarterback. Love isn’t as athletic as Hill, though, so deploying him as a running back or receiver would be silly. That doesn’t mean he isn’t athletic, either.

Love is a much better thrower than Hill and he can still scramble when under duress. Giving him two or three plays every so often to provide a change of pace wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. He could effectively execute read options and run/pass options. I’m calling for Love to throw a touchdown pass in 2020.
