5. Dontari Poe, NT

Unfortunately, we might have to wait for this one since Dontari Poe started the Cowboys training camp out on the PUP list after having surgery in the offseason. Poe missed five games in 2019 and had surgery on his quadriceps which is why he’s needing some extra time before going full speed.

However, once he is active and ready to contribute, Poe is going to be a force for Dallas. For years they’ve gone with undrafted players and lesser-known free-agent additions at the nose tackle position and the line as a whole has struggled because of it.

With Mike Nolan taking over as the defensive coordinator, the Cowboys finally decided to go after a high-profile nose tackle and Poe was their target. A former first-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs, Poe comes over from the Carolina Panthers — along with former teammate Gerald McCoy.

At nearly 350-pounds, Poe is a monster in the middle of the line and can single-handedly shut down the ground attack when he’s on his game. In addition to that, he’s able to generate pressure from the nose position, which is always a huge plus.

Dallas has had some players flash at the nose, including the recently re-signed Antwaun Woods — but none have had the sheer talent Poe possesses.
