Washington Football Team gets zero players in the NFL Top 100

The NFL Top 100 list has come out and the Washington Football Team was blanked.
This may not come as the biggest shock to a lot of people but the Washington Football Team is not exactly loaded with top-end elite players. Truthfully, there is a lot to love about Washington but they don’t have those major stars at the moment.
She when the NFL Top 100 countdown finished on Wednesday, it didn’t really surprise many people that Washington had zero players make the list. If we’re being honest with ourselves, the NFL Top 100 list is not exactly the most definitive thing. It might be the opinion of players but it is still an opinion. And there is definitely some bias going on at times.
However, it also shows what other teams/players think of Washington. They aren’t exactly scared of them at the moment. There is good news though, that could all turn around quickly. Washington has a lot of players that could find their way onto the list in 2021.

Could the Washington Football Team change their Top 100 luck in 2021?
The most obvious is probably Chase Young. He is going to be a rookie so he was ineligible for the list this year obviously. But the projections have him coming into the league and dominating immediately. The pass rusher could absolutely find himself not just on the list but pretty high on it, after year one.
Meanwhile, fellow pass rusher Montez Sweat could crack on. Sweat had a great rookie season, finishing with seven sacks and two forced fumbles. He got better as the year went on and could have it even easier with Young taking some attention away from him. Safety Landon Collins has been on the list multiple times already and a bounce-back year could grant him a spot again.
The defensive line has three potential NFL Top 100 players in Da’Ron Payne, Matthew Ioannidis and Jonathan Allen. That’s a deadly trio that has started off their careers strong. All still young enough to be reaching their prime.
On the other side of the ball, it’s hard to imagine any of the offensive linemen making the list. Brandon Scherff is the best player on the line. And it’s hard to imagine many guards making it unless they’re that dominant. It gets even harder for Scherff considering he’s dealt with a number of injuries in the last few years.
Derrius Guice has more than enough talent to get on the list but injuries have really hampered his career. If he stays healthy, don’t be shocked if he makes the cut. He is averaging 5.8 yards per carry in his career.
Terry McLaurin might be the returning player with the best chance to make the list. The wide receiver had an incredible rookie season. In just 14 games he racked up 58 receptions for 919 yards and seven touchdowns. And he did so with a ton of different quarterbacks and some mediocre-at-best-play from the signal-callers.
Speaking of quarterbacks, what about Dwayne Haskins? His rookie year was not very good. But he showed major improvements over the last few games and salvaged the season with decent enough stats. He has an incredible arm and nice touch.
Most importantly, he has been an absolute animal this offseason. Haskins has slimmed down and gotten into incredible shape. He’s constantly caught on camera working out or training with players. And he’s impressed a lot of people with great throws and showing off skills, such as his amazing footwork.
Haskins is flying under the radar but could take a serious step forward in 2021. If it’s enough to crack the NFL Top 100 remains to be seen. But don’t count him out.

Not many people will argue with Washington not having anyone make the 2020 list. They had a miserable year and very few “stars” on the roster. 2021 could be a very different story though. The talent is there. And it should result in Washington enjoying a much better season, and maybe getting reward with a few of those Top-100 spots.
