In the fourth round, the Raiders decided to add another cornerback to their roster as they took Louisiana Tech’s Amik Robertson. Looking at just the numbers, Robertson is an absolute steal at pick No. 139 as he had 14 interceptions and 34 pass defenses in three seasons with the Bulldogs.

The problem is, his size could be a problem in the NFL as he’s listed at just 5-foot-9 and 172-pounds. Or at least, some think that could be a problem — even though many other players have shown they can overcome their own measurables.

As for Robertson, he’s going to be a fan favorite and the reasons why were all stated by Joe Marino of The Draft Network who said he’s feisty and physical and will shine as a nickel corner.

"“Amik Robertson has many of the attributes needed to shine as a starting nickel corner in the NFL where his feisty competitive demeanor, anticipation, physicality, run defense and ball skills would truly shine and his lack of size won’t be an issue. Robertson offers versatility in man and zone coverage but there are size and speed restrictions that present some matchup challenges if tasked with tight ends or bigger slots. Robertson has that junkyard dog mentality when competing and his ball skills are outstanding, making his tape is easy to love.” — Marino, The Draft Network"

Robertson can be a pesky defender which gets under the skin of whoever he’s covering — and that will also make him an instant fan favorite.
