Washington ‘Loses for Larry’, lands Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft.

1. Washington Football Team: Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

While the Washington Football Team selected Dwayne Haskins with a first-round pick in 2019, this is actually an incredibly crucial year for him as he plays under a regime that didn’t draft him. If Washington is picking No. 1, things didn’t go right for the young quarterback, which should pave the way for Trevor Lawrence to come in. The Clemson wunderkind is all-world in terms of talent, production and winning, something that Washington has been craving for many years.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

Most people have the Jaguars projected to finish the 2020 season with the worst record in the league, which would land them Lawrence. If they were to end up with the No. 2 pick, though, that’s going to put them in line to still replace Gardner Minshew with Justin Fields. In his one season at Ohio State, Fields was a revelation as a prolific passer and runner. If he can develop more technically, he’ll be a no-brainer second-overall selection.

3. New York Jets: Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon

Even with Mekhi Becton coming in as a first-round pick last year, the Jets offensive line remains a major concern by my estimation. Sam Darnold and the rest of the offense aren’t going to have a chance if they don’t have ample time. That’s why they double down at tackle and take Penei Sewell here. Yes, the elite offensive tackle means they pass on the WR1 in the class but, with another first-rounder at their disposal, that’s a luxury they may now have.

4. Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU

There’s a good possibility that A.J. Green isn’t in Cincinnati after this season. And while the Bengals will still have Tyler Boyd and (maybe) John Ross for Joe Burrow to grow with, they need more. Pairing him with one of his favorite targets at LSU, Ja’Marr Chase, makes a ton of sense. Chase is a phenomenal pass-catcher with the ability to win at all levels of the field and be a true No. 1 at the NFL level.
