Dallas Cowboys roster: Tight End (3)

For the second time in three seasons, the Dallas Cowboys are looking to replace Jason Witten. This time, it appears there will be no reunion though as he’s not retiring but instead joined the Las Vegas Raiders. Dallas fans wish No. 82 the best, but how does the position look without him?

Blake Jarwin

Mike McCarthy and Kellen Moore must really like Blake Jarwin because they gave him a three-year extension worth roughly $24 million. He’s going to be the guy from here on out and his ability to stretch the field as a receiver has been, and will continue to be, his calling card. He doesn’t have to be what Witten was in his prime, but as long as he continues to make the plays when his number is called, he will earn his pay.

Blake Bell

With Blake Jarwin moving to the No. 1 spot, the Cowboys needed a new second tight end. That’s where Blake Bell comes in. The former Oklahoma quarterback has carved out a nice career in the NFL as a blocking tight end and comes in with a Super Bowl ring from last season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Dalton Schultz

After showing some promise as a rookie, Dalton Schultz became a forgotten man in his sophomore campaign. He’s a solid blocker but he does have more athleticism than he gets credit for. Don’t expect him to give up the No. 2 job easily.
