Top 100 NFL players entering the 2020 season: Nos. 90-81
By Samuel Teets
88. Kenny Clark, DT/NT, Green Bay Packers
He isn’t a household name yet, but Clark is one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL. He made the first Pro Bowl of his young career this past season, making six sacks and 62 tackles. To put his impact in perspective, if the Packers must choose between re-signing Clark or Aaron Jones next year, they’re taking Clark.

When PFF put together a list of the top 25 players under 25, Clark claimed the 11th spot, topping superstars like Saquon Barkley and Minkah Fitzpatrick. PFF cited Clark’s high grades in the pass rush and his exceptional run defense for the high ranking.
While I’m not putting Clark alongside the NFL’s elites until his production increases, the young lineman is one of the league’s most efficient defenders.
87. Brandon Scherff, RG, Washington Football Team
Scherff remained one of the lone bright spots on Washington’s offense in 2019. He, Terry McLaurin, and Adrian Peterson all put together solid campaigns, but Scherff was the only member from Washington’s offense to make the Pro Bowl. It was his third selection.
In terms of recognition, Scherff is one of the most popular guards in the NFL. However, he’s never made an All-Pro team, and the Iowa product finished 2019 on injured reserve (IR). Last year followed a disturbing injury trend since Scherff also landed on IR in 2018.
Over the past three seasons, Scherff has missed 15 games. That didn’t stop Washington from applying its franchise tag to the 28-year-old. It’s a $15.03 million gamble that Scherff can stay healthy and cement himself as a reliable offensive lineman next year.
