Top 100 NFL players entering the 2020 season: Nos. 60-51
By Samuel Teets
58. David Bakhtiari, LT, Green Bay Packers
Bakhtiari is only the second left tackle revealed on the top 100, and he’s not the last. Since joining the Packers as a fourth-round pick in 2013, Bakhtiari has consistently protected Aaron Rodgers’ blindside. Despite only making two Pro Bowls, he’s one of the best left tackles from the past decade.
The AP began recognizing Bakhtiari’s skill in 2016, when he made his first All-Pro team. Over the past four seasons, Bakhtiari has three AP Second-Team All-Pro selections and one First-Team nod. PFF also rewarded the Colorado product with First-Team All-Pro selections in 2017 and 2018.

PFF sang Bakhtiari’s praises when he earned the No. 84 spot on the outlet’s All-Decade Top 101. According to writer Sam Monson,
"After Joe Thomas, David Bakhtiari became the gold standard when it comes to pass protection in the NFL."
PFF’s Anthony Treash lists Bakhtiari as the third-best offensive tackle entering the 2020 season.
57. DeForest Buckner, DT, Indianapolis Colts
Buckner played a significant role in San Francisco’s success last year, anchoring the interior of one of the NFL’s best defensive lines. The Oregon product forfeited some of his pass-rushing production to Arik Armstead and Nick Bosa, but the AP still rewarded him with a Second-Team All-Pro selection.
While Buckner always played a large role against the run, amassing 134 tackles during his first two seasons, the former seventh overall pick began rushing the passer with new energy in 2018. Over the past two years, Buckner has 19.5 sacks, 34 quarterback hits, 54 pressures, two forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries to go along with 129 tackles.
Buckner isn’t the most dominant interior lineman in the NFL but he’s exceptionally well-rounded. That’s why he’s the fifth-highest ranking defensive tackle on the top 100.
