Las Vegas Raiders: 3 Reasons Derek Carr is facing his last chance
2. 2021 draft class is something to consider for the future.
Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden have proven that they are not afraid to trade heaven and earth in order to provide the Raiders with the best possible capital on draft day. They priced it with Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper. With that said, they have to have their eyes on the incoming quarterback class in the 2021 NFL Draft, which is projected to be one of the strongest in recent years just in case.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are apparently already in full-on tank mode for Trevor Lawrence with their recent moves. However, If the Raiders have a down year and find themselves in the top 10 of the draft, they may not need to move anywhere to land either Ohio State’s Justin Fields or North Dakota State’s Trey Lance.
Since the college football season is still up in the air, it’s unlikely another quarterback will fly up draft boards like Joe Burrow did this past year. With that said, some teams may be hesitant to pull the trigger on these passers due to the lack of recent tape. Should the Raiders need to move up, they should be able to find suitors and as previously mentioned have proven to be fearless when it comes to acquiring draft picks.
So when you take all that into consideration, should Carr not perform to his ceiling or win enough games, there’s almost a perfect storm brewing for the Raiders to draft their future signal-caller in the upcoming draft.
