Bold predictions for the Minnesota Vikings in their Week 1 matchup with the Packers.

The 2020 NFL season is finally among us. For the Minnesota Vikings, they will get the new year underway with an immediate tough task of taking on their bitter rivals in the NFC North when facing the Green Bay Packers.

The Vikings and Packers will square off to begin the season when the two squads battle at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams hope to tip off the 2020 campaign with a win over a divisional opponent and get the season off to a quick start in the first action on the field since there were no preseason games leading up to the regular-season schedule. One thing will be much different during the game in that there will be no fans in attendance, which will be the case for the Vikings for at least their first two regular-season contests.

For Minnesota, it comes into the season after compiling a record of 10-6 overall during the 2019 season, a year that ended taking second place in the NFC North behind Green Bay while reaching as far as the NFC Divisional Round before falling to the San Francisco 49ers.

On the other end of the field this weekend, the Vikings will host a Packers squad that finished the 2019 campaign with an overall record of 13-3, which was good enough to claim the division crown. Green Bay advanced all the way to the NFC Championship Game, falling to San Francisco in the postseason just as Minnesota did the round prior.

The game will feature a team in the Vikings who are a tough team to beat at home, having finished the eight-game home schedule a year ago with a record of 6-2. The Packers, on the other hand, finished 6-2 away from Green Bay in 2019.

Before the Vikings and Packers square off in the season opener on Sunday, let’s make three bold predictions that will occur for Minnesota in the contest.
