3. Dalvin Cook will pick up where he left off in 2019

A year ago, Cook was one of the top running backs in the entire NFL as he put together a Pro Bowl campaign while remaining healthy for most of the regular season for the first time in his career.

In 2019, Cook finished the year appearing in a career-high 14 regular-season games, tallying 250 carries for 1,135 yards and 13 touchdowns, which is tied for the most rushing touchdowns in a season in franchise history. Cook also finished the season with a total of 53 catches for 519 yards through the air out of the backfield.

Oftentimes in the last few years, Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer has been vocal when it comes tot he team’s dedication and commitment to running the ball and running the offensive unit through the ground game. That should mean we will see a heavy load of Cook and other running backs week-in and week-out in 2020.

Although Cook is still dealing with the ongoing issue and distraction of his current contract negotiations while both sides try and work out a potential extension during the year, Cook won’t let that distraction impact his play on the field and he has continued to be present for all on-field activities the Vikings have held leading up to the start of the regular season.

Although it’s a new season, Cook will get off to a strong start against Green Bay this weekend and will kick off the 2020 year right where he left off in his third NFL season in 2019.
