Atlanta Falcons: 3 Studs and duds in Week 1 vs. Seahawks
Stud: Todd Gurley
For the first time in six seasons, Atlanta had a new starting running back taking over things on offense after parting ways with Devonta Freeman and shortly after signing Gurley after he was released by the Los Angeles Rams.

In the first game with his new squad, Gurley had a nice showing to lead the rushing attack for the Falcons. In the contest, he finished with a team-best 14 carries for 56 yards and one touchdown, also hauling in two catches out of the backfield.
Atlanta is hoping that Gurley will only continue to progress while he gets acclimated to things on his new team, but the Week 1 showing from the running back was a nice way to start things off.
Dud: Falcons pass defense
In the game, the Seahawks passing attack basically operated with ease, led by veteran quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson ended the game going 31-for-35 with 322 to passing yards and four passing touchdowns.
Seattle’s receiving group had five players haul in three or more receptions, with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett nearly surpassing the 100-yard receiving mark. Along with that success, Atlanta failed to get any interceptions in the contest or put any pressure on Seattle, allowing the Seahawks to end up recording nearly 40 points in the win.
