It’s only the second week of the 2020 NFL season, but the Minnesota Vikings an important early-season game on Sunday to try and get back on track.

After falling in the season-opener against a divisional opponent last weekend, Minnesota will hit the road to face off against an AFC squad in its first road game of the 2020 campaign. The Vikings head away from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis for the first time this year when they battle against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis.

The importance of this game will be present on both sidelines in Week 2 in Indianapolis, as both Minnesota and Indianapolis are on the search for their first victories of the new season while trying to avoid falling behind in their respective conferences advancing into Week 3.

For the Vikings, they are coming off of a rough 43-34 loss to NFC North opponent the Green Bay Packers last Sunday in Minneapolis, dropping behind the rest of the division and conference right out of the gate.

In that game, Minnesota struggled to find its footing early and often, falling behind Green Bay right away in the first quarter while not being able to catch back up in the final three quarters.

The Vikings did manage to open the game up with a 7-3 lead, but the Packers turned things on shortly after to run away with the game. Green Bay scored 19 points in the second quarter compared to Minnesota’s three to grab a 22-10 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, the Vikings tried to make a comeback, but the Packers didn’t let up. Green Bay ultimately held off Minnesota and dropped nearly 50 points on the road and take down the Vikings.

On the other side of the field, the Colts are entering the game coming off of a 27-20 road loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, also sitting at 0-1 overall like the Vikings.

In the game for Indianapolis, it got out to an early lead in the opening half of the game but ultimately fell in the final quarter to Jacksonville. The Colts carried a 17-14 advantage going into halftime until the Jaguars went on to out-score Indianapolis 13-3 the rest of the way to pull out the win.
