NFL Week 2: 5 Biggest questions entering the weekend
4. How will NFL teams fare without their top pass-catchers?
One week into the season and it feels like there have been enough wide receiver injuries for a whole season. The Detroit Lions were the first victim, with their top receiver Kenny Golladay missing Week 1 due to a hamstring injury.

With the Lions one dropped pass away from winning the game, it is safe to say the final outcome could have been different with a healthy Golladay.
A myriad of other teams lost their top wideouts during Week 1 games. Saints superstar Michael Thomas suffered a high ankle sprain and Titans’ second-year standout A.J. Brown is questionable for NFL Week 2 with a bone bruise. Tampa’s elite duo, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, are also both questionable for Sunday. And 49ers tight end George Kittle also suffered a knee injury.
With the importance of all of these pass-catchers to their respective teams, both the timetable of their returns and how the teams fare in their absence will be critical.
The injuries could prove to not be too serious, but if any of these star receivers miss an extended period of time, then the secondary wide receivers like Emmanuel Sanders, Corey Davis and Marvin Jones will need to step up in their place to ensure their offenses don’t miss a beat.
