4. Pollard gains 100 all-purpose yards

We transition from a bright spot in Week 1 to a bit of a reoccurring frustration. Tony Pollard was taken in the fourth round out of Memphis last season and he has a lot of traits to really get excited about. He’s a quick and decisive runner who can also excel as a receiver.

More from NFL Spin Zone

He’s a mismatch problem for defenses and has the ability to hit a home run on any play. Yet he continues to be underutilized as he finished Week 1 with just 10 offensive snaps and had two rushes for 10 yards and two receptions for 22.

Now, no one is expecting him to be out there for an entire series and take the ball out of Ezekiel Elliott‘s hands, but there has to be a better way to get No. 20 involved than just two rushes and two pass targets. And it feels like the Cowboys will eventually figure that out.

In this bold prediction, they do exactly that as they get him more touches on offense to the tune of 100 all-purpose yards. Yes, he had 48 on the kickoff returns so maybe 100 all-purpose doesn’t feel like a huge stretch, but the point is that the offense will utilize him more in Week 2 against a struggling Atlanta Falcons offense.

What would be most intriguing would be seeing Keelen Moore find a way to get both Pollard and Zeke in the backfield together to create some confusion for the defense. Whatever the plan, Pollard needs the ball a bit more and Week 2 gives them the right opponent to do this against.
