3. New England Patriots defense will have its hands full

Over the past few seasons, New England has had one of the top defensive units in the entire NFL. Most recently in the 2019 season, the Patriots defense stepped up early and often throughout the year and proved they could shut down opposing offenses week-in and week-out.

During the season-opening win last Sunday in Week 1 against the Miami Dolphins, New England’s defense once again showcased some of those same abilities, holding the Dolphins to just 11 points in the game with one touchdown on the ground.

This week, however, the Patriots will need their defense to step up big time while facing off against a top-notch offense on the other side of the field with Seattle.

Last week in the Week 1 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, the Seahawks rattled off 322 yards and four touchdowns through the air on a total of 35 pass attempts and 31 completions. On the ground, Seattle ran for a combined 84 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries.

This week will be a tough test for the Patriots for multiple reasons. But one area they will have the biggest test lies on the defensive side of the ball against a potent offense in the Seahawks.
