32. team. 30. . . Previous: 32nd. New York Jets

It seemed as though Adam Gase might have turned a corner as he was 7-9 in his first season with the New York Jets but 7-6 with Sam Darnold as the starter. This was also good news for Darnold who was out to prove he can be the starter long-term for the Jets — who haven’t had a franchise quarterback for years.

However, their starting to get some serious questions once again after an 0-2 start to this season, which included a blow out this weekend at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. And in this one, they never even stood a chance.

San Francisco had an 80-yard touchdown run from Raheem Mostert on their very first offensive snap and from there it only got uglier. The only thing that slowed the 49ers down was injuries, which is why the final score wasn’t even worse than it was.

For Gase, it could start to mean he’s heading to the hot seat. There’s no secret that he has a divisive personality and with no wins to go along with that, it becomes much more difficult to look past his gruff demeanor. New York understood this, seeing him tear up the Miami locker room in the AFC East, but they took a chance anyway. It will be interesting to see how long they let this experiment play out.
