New Orleans Saints: Studs and duds from Week 3 vs. Packers
Stud: RB Alvin Kamara
The 2017 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year got paid this offseason and it’s not hard to understand why. And with the New Orleans Saints down All-Pro wide receiver Michael Thomas for the second straight week, someone was going to have to take up the slack. Alvin Kamara had quite the Sunday evening in a losing effort to the Green Bay Packers.

He did his best to keep the team in the game, running six times for 58 yards (including a 49-yard jaunt). But he was quarterback Drew Brees’ favorite target on the evening. Kamara was thrown at 14 times and he snared 13 passes for 139 yards and two touchdowns, including a magnificent 52-yard score late in the third quarter.
Dud: QB Taysom Hill
Has the novelty worn off a bit? Early in the season, versatile performer Taysom Hill has not had much of an impact on the New Orleans Saints’ offense. Perhaps that is by design but he entered Sunday night’s clash with the Packers having run just five times for 21 yards, totaling one catch for 14 yards while completing one pass for 38 yards.
Of course, it’s also early in the season. But in the fourth quarter of the club’s 37-30 loss, he was guilty of a crucial miscue that seemed to change the momentum of the contest. Tied at 27-all and at the Packers’ 41-yard-line, he took the snap and lost the football (via Guerry Smith of the Associated Press) after a hit by Za’Darius Smith.
