3. Vikings defense will have to limit the Texans passing game

In past seasons, we’ve often seen the Texans feature a potent passing game that relies more heavily on the passing attack led by quarterback Deshaun Watson and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

In 2020, however, Hopkins is no longer on the team following being traded to the Arizona Cardinals this offseason. That has resulted in Watson and the rest of the offense to find other ways to hurt opposing defenses week-in and week-out.

Although Houston hasn’t passed the ball as heavily as it has in the past, the Texans are still pretty productive with that aspect of the offense, completing on 67.4 percent of pass attempts which ranks in the top half of the league rankings. Along with that, Houston is averaging 8.3 yards per pass attempt, which ranks eighth in the NFL, and have tallied four touchdowns and three interceptions.

In three games this year, Watson has thrown for nearly 800 yards while averaging 8.3 yards per pass attempt. He has also completed a total of 67.4 percent of his passes while throwing for four touchdowns through the air.

Although this isn’t the same potent passing offense that we’ve seen out of the Texans in the past, Minnesota will still have to limit Houston’s passing game in Week 4 on Sunday.
