Minnesota Vikings: 3 Bold predictions for Week 4 vs. Texans
2. Cook and Jefferson will remain heavily involved
One thing that occurred often during the Week 3 game against the Tennessee Titans for the Vikings was getting running back Dalvin Cook and rookie wide receiver Justin Jefferson involved in the flow of both the passing attack and running game, respectively. Right out of the gate of the game, Cook and Jefferson will both heavily involved and helped Minnesota jump out to a large lead early in the game.
In the Week 3 loss, Cook finished with a team-best 22 carries for 181 yards, which is a career-high for the running back, also getting into the endzone once.
Jefferson, on the other hand, finished with seven catches on nine targets, hauling in a total of 175 yards through the air.
So far this season, Cook has recorded a total of 48 carries for 294 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, adding five receptions for 24 yards through the air. Jefferson, who had a breakout performance in Week 3, has tallied 12 catches for 245 yards and one touchdown, averaging 20.4 yards per catch in three games.
When the Vikings have things rolling on the ground in the run game and also have a nice counter of a passing game led by Jefferson, Adam Thielen and others, Minnesota’s offense takes another step in the right direction. That will be big for the purple and gold this week.
